Pickup and the expo are at the Virginia Beach Convention Center on Friday from 1 to 7 p.m.; get your packet by 5 p.m. if you run the Monster Mile. Saturday morning pickup runs 6:45 to 7:45 a.m.

Course
Courses
The 10K and 5K are flat, certified oceanfront courses with a 2 hour limit and spooky entertainment along the way. The 10K has water at about miles 2, 4 and 5. The Monster Mile starts at 6 p.m. on Friday beside the convention center.
Parking and travel
Parking
Parking at the convention center is limited and fills fast, so arrive early. A dry bag check at the convention center uses the clear bag handed out at pickup.
Shirt and medal
Finisher items and party
All runners get a tech shirt and a medal; Monster Mile finishers get a bottle opener medal. The Saturday party is on the beach at 22nd Street, and runners 21 and over get a limited number of beers after an ID check.

Costume contest
Costumes are judged Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, with awards Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 10:15 a.m. You must wear the costume for the whole race and have a visible bib to win.

About the race
A Halloween themed race weekend at the Virginia Beach oceanfront from J&A Racing. A Friday night mile runs through the ViBe District, and on Saturday morning the 10K and 5K start by the convention center and finish on the boardwalk at 20th Street.
