Schedule and packet pickup
Bibs and shirts are handed out at the expo in the National Building Museum, 401 F St. NW: Friday, April 2, 1 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, April 3, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The 10 Mile packets are only available at the expo. The 5K and Kids Run packets can also be collected at the 5K staging area on Saturday.
Schedule and packet pickup
The elite women go off at 7:18 a.m. and the main 10 Mile field at 7:30 a.m. Runners are placed in six corrals of about 3,500 each based on a past or projected time, and waves leave a few minutes apart. Entrants who give no time start in the last group.
Parking and travel
Metro is the suggested way in, with Smithsonian station a block from the staging area and Federal Triangle and L'Enfant Plaza also close. Course roads close on race morning, so drivers should arrive early; paid garage spots can be reserved ahead through SpotHero.
Shirt and medal
5K entrants receive the official cotton race shirt plus post race food and drink, and can buy a technical shirt upgrade or a finisher medal when they register. Upgrade shirts are also sold at the expo.
Rules and FAQ
The 10 Mile allows 2 hours 20 minutes from when you cross the start, and the finish closes at 10:20 a.m. The 5K limit is 75 minutes. Strollers are not allowed in either race and dogs are barred from the 5K. There are no refunds or deferrals unless you buy race protection, and you cannot switch races.

Besides the lottery, entries go to 100 Mile Club members, runners turned down in both the 2025 and 2026 lotteries, charity runners who raise $500 for Children's Miracle Network, seeded fast runners, and past year volunteers, who get a transferable guaranteed spot.
