Schedule and packet pickup
The 50K is Saturday, August 7, with bib pickup 5:30 to 6:30 a.m. and a 7:00 a.m. start; runners must show required gear to get a bib. The 25K is Sunday, August 8, with pickup 6:00 to 7:15 a.m. and a 7:30 a.m. start. Photo ID is required.
Course
Organizers warn the 50K takes about as long as a typical 50 mile race and is best for runners with mountain racing experience; some drainages have rope assists. Both races start and finish at Marble Mountain Sno Park.
Parking and travel
Allow about 2 hours from Portland and 4 from Seattle. Take I-5 exit 21 at Woodland, follow Highway 503 about 28.5 miles to Cougar, then Road 83 to the sno park. No NW Forest Pass is needed; no RVs, trailers or road parking.

Car camping is allowed at the sno park the night before your race, with tents only in front of or behind your vehicle. There is no running water, and no camping the night after.
Awards
Runners and volunteers get barbecue burgers, beer and cider. Every finisher gets a pint glass, the top three men, women and nonbinary runners get sponsor prizes, and age group awards go three deep.

A very rugged trail race on Mt. St. Helens. The 50K, about 32 miles, circles the volcano on the Loowit Trail through boulder fields, river crossings, the blast zone and steep drainages with about 7,400 feet of gain. The 25K samples the same terrain with 3,300 feet of gain.
