Course
The loop follows the river, winds through woods near Bonneville Dam, crosses a road, climbs one small hill of about 30 feet, skirts the town and finishes along the river above the parking lot. The trails stay open to the public during the race.
Parking and travel
Hamilton Island is about 46 miles east of Portland: leave Highway 14 at Dam Access Road, then take Fort Cascades Drive. Crews set up in a coned area by the river; solo runners park beside it. There is no parking or camping the night before.
Awards
One aid station at the start and finish serves every loop, with hot food from 6 p.m. Everyone except the winner gets a DNF glass, and the overall winner receives sponsor prizes.
Rules and FAQ
Each loop must start on the hour with everyone else, and a loop that takes 60 minutes or more ends your race. Leaving the course during an hour also ends it. Every runner gets a distance result unless the first loop is not completed.
