Schedule and packet pickup
The free expo is in the Huntington Beach Parking Lots at 21291 Pacific Coast Highway, Friday Feb 5 from noon to 6 pm and Saturday Feb 6 from 10 am to 4 pm. Marathon, half and 5K runners must collect bibs there unless they buy race morning pickup. Bring ID and the QR code email sent during race week.
Course
All Sunday races start at Pacific Coast Highway and Huntington Street. The half heads north past the pier, turns near the Bolsa Chica ecological preserve and returns with the ocean alongside to a beachfront finish. The Beach Mile goes half a mile north on the sand toward the pier and back; shoes are optional.
Parking and travel
A drop-off zone for cars and rideshares is at Beach Boulevard and Atlanta Avenue, about three blocks from the start, with no parking there. The race suggests arriving 45 to 60 minutes before your start. Gear check opens at 5:45 am in a tent in the parking lots and bags must be collected by 1 pm.
Shirt and medal
Marathon, half and 5K entries include an event shirt, a finisher medal, a tote bag, finish area food and a beer at the finish festival. Beach Mile runners get a medal, a towel and a beer. Adding the Beach Mile to a Sunday race earns a third medal through the Cowabunga Challenge.
Rules and FAQ
Limits are 6.5 hours for the marathon (about 14:53 per mile), 4.5 hours for the half and 1.5 hours for the 5K. Roads reopen on a rolling basis, so runners behind pace must leave the course as pedestrians or ride the sweep vehicle forward.
