Course

The course

The start sits about 60 feet above sea level; after roughly 2.8 miles of small rolls the route descends to the bayfront and stays flat apart from a 40 foot rise near mile 4, met again at mile 26. The marathon turns at mile 15 and the half at mile 8.7. Oysters are offered at miles 11 and 19.

Parking and travel

Getting to the start

Parking inside the state park is not allowed; it is drop off only. Shuttle buses run from race headquarters by the finish area from about 5:30 to 6:40 a.m., and a return shuttle to hotels leaves from the Yacht Club after the race.

Awards

Awards and finish

Every finisher gets a medal, and runners who register before May 1 get a shirt. The top three open and masters men and women and each age group winner receive awards at 11:30 a.m. at the Yacht Club. The marathon pays $100 for course records. Finishers get food, chowder and beer.
