Schedule and packet pickup
The organizers list April 9 and 10, 2027 as tentative dates while the permit is pending. They expect to post final 2027 details in late fall or early winter 2026. An April snowstorm can cancel the race, as has happened before.
Course
Each lap is about 17 miles with no pavement, so the 100 miler covers six laps (102 miles), with about 13,500 feet of climbing. The races start and finish at the West Assembly Area. The 100 mile time limit has been 34 hours.
Parking and travel
The start has no reliable street address and cell coverage is spotty, so bring printed directions. It is roughly 1 hour 45 minutes south of the Twin Cities. In snowy or icy conditions, drive in through Theilman on County Road 86. Parking is tight, so carpool. Campsites are available for a nightly fee.
Awards
There are no overall or age group awards. Every finisher receives a medal, and 100 mile finishers also get a buckle. A post race meal is provided.

Finishing earns UTMB qualifying points: five for the 100 mile, three for the 50 mile, two for the 34 mile and one for the 17 mile (as listed for the 2026 race).
