How fast is it?

About average for Arkansas 5Ks

The fastest quarter of the 2024 5K field finished under 29:40, against 29:23 in a typical Arkansas 5K, so times here are about average.

Compares the fastest quarter of each field, so walkers and first-timers do not skew it. It reflects the course and the field together: a flat course, cool weather, or a competitive crowd all make times faster.

Typical race-day weather

Around October 3 the day usually runs from 60°F at dawn to 79°F in the afternoon, with measurable rain on about 9% of days. Cold snaps dip to 50°F and hot years reach 87°F.

Based on 75 days within a week of the date over the last 5 years, from historical weather for the start area. Not a forecast.

From the organizers

The Steady Steve 5K on Batesville's Westside honors the legacy of Stephen Raviscioni, who worked tirelessly with his loving wife, Autumn, to establish Our Father's Table food ministry. Stephen had also turned to running for fitness and health in a big way before COVID-19 came along. He was stricken with a severe case and we lost his graceful service to the hungry and poor.
