Sunrise on race morning is at about 5:19 AM, and the Soldier Field 10 Mile starts at 7:00 AM.

Fees exclude processing fees. Comparisons use current entry fees and published results from races nearby.

Schedule and packet pickup

Packet pickup

Pickup is at the Shops at Roosevelt Collection next to Fleet Feet South Loop (1023 S Delano Ct) on Thursday May 27, 1 to 6 p.m., and Friday May 28, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. There is no race morning pickup unless you bought Will Call. Packet mailing can be added until May 8.

Race morning

The 10 mile starts at 7:00 a.m. and the 10K at 8:00 a.m.; the 10K time may shift with the size of the field. Corrals, reached through Stadium Green, close 20 minutes before each start, and waves leave every three minutes. Plan to be at the stadium by 6 a.m.

Course

The course

From the stadium the route runs south on Special Olympics Drive and Fort Dearborn Drive, passes under McCormick Place, and follows DuSable Lake Shore Drive to a turnaround near 31st Street. The 10K turns back sooner. Keep at least a 15 minute mile pace to stay on the supported course.

Parking and travel

Parking and getting there

Runners can park in the Waldron Garage and South Lot from 3:30 a.m. or the North Garage from 4:30 a.m., free until 8 a.m. or until full. Ride share drop off is at 18th Street and Special Olympics Drive, and a staffed Divvy bike valet runs by the Field Museum from 6 to 11 a.m.

What runners get

Entry includes a race jersey, a finisher medal, free race photos, and a post race tailgate on Stadium Green from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. with live music, games, and one free beer for runners 21 and over.

Awards

The top three men and women in the 10 mile share a cash purse of $500, $250, and $125, plus Fleet Feet vouchers; 10K podium finishers get vouchers. Age group awards go three deep for men and women in five year groups.

About the race

A Memorial Day weekend race in Chicago that starts inside Soldier Field and follows the lakefront south toward 31st Street before turning back to finish on the stadium field. Runners choose a 10 mile or a 10K on the same out and back route, and the morning opens with taps and a military salute.
