Schedule and packet pickup

Expo and packet pickup

Packets are picked up at the Health and Fitness Expo on the lower level of the Saint Paul RiverCentre, 175 W Kellogg Blvd: Friday, October 2, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, October 3, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Bring your race number and a photo ID. There is no race day pickup, and the expo has security screening.

Getting there

Free participant buses run to the Minneapolis starts from St. Paul in the morning and from the finish back to the start area and downtown St. Paul. Bibs ride Metro Transit buses and light rail free on October 4. Free parking is offered in the Centennial ramps near Cedar Street and at St. Paul College lots.

Awards

Finishers and awards

Marathon finishers receive a medal and a participant shirt. Age group awards for the top three men, women and non-binary runners in each group are mailed after the race, and cash awards for amateurs outside the invited professional field are offered.

Rules and FAQ

Time limit

Roads stay closed and services run for runners who finish within 6 hours 30 minutes of the start line closing, about a 14:52 per mile pace and a 2:50 p.m. finish. Later finishers move to the sidewalk and may miss the medal, photos and official results. Pacers run goal times from 2:55 to 6:30.

Gear check and finish

Gear is dropped at the marathon start on race morning, only in the clear bag handed out at pickup. Bags are returned at the State Capitol grounds, where gear check closes at 3 p.m. The Capitol grounds also host a finish festival with food trucks and a beverage garden.

Saturday races

On October 3 the TC 10K (7:30 a.m.) runs out and back on Summit Avenue from the Capitol and hosts the 2026 USATF 10K Championships. The walker friendly TC 5K starts at 9 a.m. with a walker wave at 9:10. Family events follow from 10:15 a.m.; kids 18 and under enter free and get a shirt and medal.

Run by the nonprofit Twin Cities In Motion, this USATF sanctioned marathon starts in downtown Minneapolis, passes the Chain of Lakes, crosses the Mississippi River and finishes on the State Capitol grounds in St. Paul. The 2026 race is on Sunday, October 4; from 2027 the weekend moves to mid October.
