Schedule and packet pickup

Packet pickup and expo

Bibs, shirts and goodie buckets are handed out on Friday, October 2, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ascension St. Vincent YMCA, 516 Court Street. Race morning pickup from 5:45 to 6:45 a.m. is only for runners who paid a $5 add-on when they registered.

Course

The course

Both races start together at 7:00 a.m. The 5 Miler follows the opening miles of the half and splits off at two signed points to finish at the Ford Center. The half has a 4 hour limit, about an 18 minute mile pace, and roads reopen behind that pace until the course closes at 11 a.m.

Parking and gear check

Downtown parking is first come first served in several lots and garages, including the YMCA lot at Court and Sixth Street and floors 3 to 6 of the Bally's Evansville garage. Gear check runs 5:45 to 6:45 a.m. in the YMCA lobby; bags must be collected by 11:30 a.m.

Shirt and medal

What you get

Every entrant gets a tech shirt and a goodie bucket, and everyone who finishes within the time limit receives a medal. Race photos are free.

Awards

Both races award the top three men and women overall plus the top three in each age group, with separate overall awards for walkers. Awards are mailed after results are verified rather than handed out on race day.

Where the money goes

Proceeds support the YMCA of Southwestern Indiana, funding youth programs such as after school care and mentoring and helping families afford Y membership and services.

About the race

Evansville's only half marathon, held downtown as a fundraiser for the YMCA of Southwestern Indiana. The 13.1 mile route passes Bosse Field, Garvin and Bayard Parks, the Pigeon Creek Greenway and the Ohio River before finishing at the Ford Center. A 5 mile race starts alongside it.
