Schedule and packet pickup

Expo and packet pickup

Packets are collected at the expo in the Club Suites area of Empower Field at Mile High on the Friday and Saturday before race day. There is no packet pickup on Sunday. Colfax 5K runners can also get their packet in City Park on the Saturday morning from 7:30 a.m.

Colfax 5K on Saturday

The chip timed 5K on Saturday loops City Park and Ferril Lake from the marathon start and finish line. It has a stroller friendly family and walk wave and a dog wave. A separate Girls on the Run 5K follows at 10:30 a.m.

Course

Courses and time limits

The marathon allows 6 hours and the half 3 hours 25 minutes; the half includes a mile inside Denver Zoo. The Urban 10 Miler covers the last 10 miles of the marathon route from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, with wave starts from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. and a 2.5 hour limit.

Getting there

The start and finish festival sits in City Park between the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and Ferril Lake. The site advises arriving early for parking. Urban 10 Miler bibs include an RTD ticket for the ride back to your car, and relay runners park near the start of their own leg.

Awards and finisher perks

Overall and masters awards go three deep on gun time; age group awards go three deep on chip time. A new event record pays $1,000, with another $1,000 for a state record. Finishers get a medal, tech shirt, free photos and a brat or vegetarian lunch at the City Park festival.

More from the race

Marathon Relay

Teams of five split the marathon course into five legs, with the first leg leaving City Park at 6 a.m. Divisions cover open teams plus employee teams from companies, government agencies and K-12 public schools. A captain registers the team and need not know all five runners at signup.

About the race

Denver's only marathon, a Boston qualifier that starts and finishes in City Park. The full course passes through Empower Field at Mile High twice and Denver Fire Station #1, follows about seven miles of creeks, rivers and lakes including Sloan's Lake, and runs along Colfax Avenue and through downtown.
